The curtains came down on the 20-over World Cup 2021 Super 12 stage after India’s emphatic victory over Namibia at Dubai International Stadium on Monday. England, Pakistan, Australia, and New Zealand have progressed to the last four. Meanwhile, defending champions West Indies and favorites India endured a disappointing tournament.

Pakistan were the only team to win all their five fixtures in the Super 12. The 20-over World Cup 2009 winners kicked off their campaign with a stellar victory over India. They beat New Zealand by five wickets in their second match. A thrilling win over Afghanistan and a 45-run thrashing of Namibia saw them seal a semi-final spot. Pakistan completed a Super 12 whitewash after the victory over Scotland on Sunday.
100-plus twice
Three players managed to register a three-figure mark fantasy points score twice in the World Cup 2021. Jos Buttler, who topped the Super 12 fantasy points chart with 388 points, bagged 122 points and 155 points against Australia and Sri Lanka, respectively. Mohammad Rizwan, who picked up 100-plus points against India and Namibia, and Rohit Sharma, who made 100 points and 103 points versus Afghanistan, and Namibia, respectively, were the other two players to achieve the feat in Super 12.

All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada picked up a hat-trick during the Super 12 stage. The Sri Lankan leg-spinner grabbed his hat-trick against South Africa by dismissing Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, and Dwaine Pretorius. Rabada removed Chris Woakes, Eoin Morgan, and Chris Jordan to clinch up his maiden T20I hat-trick. Both these players have also taken a hat-trick on their ODI debuts.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam again delivered on the big stage as he scored four half-centuries in Super 12. With 264 runs from five innings, the 27-year-old is a strong contender for the player of the tournament award. Babar, playing his first 20-over World Cup, struck an unbeaten 68 against India and scored 51, 70, and 66 against Afghanistan, Namibia, and Scotland, respectively.
400, 8000, 3000 clubs
Rashid Khan, Martin Guptill, and Rohit achieved key milestones during the Super 12. The Afghanistan spinner has taken his T20 wicket tally to 400 wickets. Meanwhile, Guptill went past 8000 runs in T20s, and Rohit reached the 3000-run mark in the shortest format. Also, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan overtook Chris Gayle's record for most T20 runs in a calendar year. He has scored 1676 runs in 2021 so far.
